Prepaid USD balance, allocation-based compute, and retained storage.
Prepaid balance
Accounts use a prepaid USD balance. New accounts start at zero. The console displays the account balance, resource estimates, and ledger. Allocation requires sufficient balance; a supported resource configuration is not a free trial.
Top-ups use Stripe-hosted Checkout when payments are enabled for the deployment. The catalog reports payment availability. If Checkout is disabled, the console cannot create a top-up session. Do not assume a card can be charged just because the billing UI exists.
Compute charges
Compute billing begins when the runtime reports resources allocated. It ends when resource release is confirmed. Sending a pause request is not the same as confirming release. Lifecycle state and the ledger are the authoritative indicators to inspect.
Usage is calculated at second-level granularity. The ledger stores integer micro-USD: 1 USD equals 1,000,000 micro-USD. Fractional calculation remainders carry between accounting ticks.
Storage charges
Storage begins billing after backing allocation is confirmed and remains billable while provisioned, including when compute is sleeping or stopped. Delete unneeded independent volumes separately after detaching them. Read the storage lifecycle before deleting files.
Where prices come from
Prices are configured by placement and resource profile. The console and public catalog show configured prices; this documentation does not publish a fabricated fixed price list. Missing GPU profile prices mean unavailable, not zero cost.
Existing charge records are not recalculated when region prices change. Review the estimate when allocating or changing resources and inspect your actual ledger afterward.
Top-up completion
Checkout completion is followed by a signed payment confirmation before credit is recorded. Returning to the console alone does not prove the ledger has been credited. If payment status is pending, inspect the top-up and account state before creating another order.

Complete history and usage reports
The current preview source adds date-window summaries, resource filters, daily buckets, and cursor-paginated ledger history. The account snapshot still contains only the latest 100 postings.
